Artist Bio
Originally from Singapore and now based in East London, Cassandra Yap is a visual artist known for her bold, evocative works that explore the delicate balance between beauty and darkness. Fuelled by her fascination with pin-ups, the female form, and a deep love for vintage erotica, her art often merges the sensual with the surreal. Through these influences, Cassandra creates striking and empowering pieces that offer a contemporary twist on timeless subjects.
Her work, characterised by its rich contrasts and fearless exploration of provocative themes, has gained recognition in exhibitions such as the Affordable Art Fair in London, where she has showcased her unique perspective in recent years. Cassandra's work has captured the attention of galleries across the UK, where she is currently represented.
In addition to her art, Cassandra has successfully ventured into the world of fashion, collaborating with the iconic brand AllSaints for their 30th anniversary. As part of this collaboration, she customised an AllSaints signature leather jacket for a charity auction event at the prestigious Serpentine Gallery, with the proceeds going to Shelter UK.
